Price of a Pint

tis around 3.60 or 3.70 down my neck of the woods…

is it still 2005 where you live puke?

What you say there is exact core of our dispute with The 51. It was a case last year of business falling (Landsdowne Road redevelopment + economy) so they responded by raising prices. Now, the industry expects a big round of applause for freezing prices when, as WBY says, a raft of pubs had already introduced recent price increases ahead of this well publicised freeze.

:p…

Indeed and it’s not…

Every day is still 1995 in clare!!

id say straw hats and dingo jeans would be the norm when suppin those 3.60 pints of ale

Heavens no:D…we would be much more refined than that in East Clare, If you went to some of the backwaters in West Clar like Mullagh, Cooraclare, kilmihil, Miltown and Quilty you would see that get up alright…

Ya, we wouldn’t be as refined as our East Clare brethern with their Toyota jerseys at all at all

:D…nothing more refined than a jersey from Penneys

Remember last year and the estate agents putting up the % commission they were charging on selling houses because they weren’t selling as many houses as they had been previously and wanted to maintain their income.

Somebody needs to run the publicans and other assorted greedy fuckers through microeconomics: supply and demand 101.

Think that’s more to do with the new management, things must be bad down the street!
What’s the discount for members?

The Bandage, Jugs and cesc4 tripod made a return to The 51 last night amid much fanfare and wild excitement. The price of a pint of Heineken remains at 5.20 - it was the increase from 5 to 5.20 last March that prompted our boycott to begin with.

PJ, the bar manager, was going on about how they didn’t pass on the Diageo or Budget increases to customers and it’s a fair price all things considered. But we were too busy staring at the newest member of floor staff - the lovely Anna from Gdansk - to get into much of a debate about it.

We’ll probably go back because places like Kehoe’s in town have gone above 5 now. We considered 5 a ceiling but it was also the pain in the hole of getting a load of loose change back any time you bought a round that was pissing us off. So I’m not going to quibble between 5.20, 5.15 and 5.10 or whatever.

But yeah, Anna’s awesome.

Sell-out…

Crawling back with their tails between their legs. This red herring of some bird from Danzig doesn’t mask the facts of the matter. farmer is quite right.

We’re not going back just because there’s a hot bird there.

Really.

Wouldn’t mind a picture of this east European beauty.

After spending an hour or so in the 51 after the patch on Saturday, it really is a fooking rip off. Bit of a kip as well.

5.20 in that place is some joke when it’s about a euro cheaper down the road in the Beggars Bush.

Where I had one before the 51 and the difference was staggering, in both price and quality. Yeah, there were plenty more fine women in the 51 but, fook that.

Fuckin 51 after a rugby match is horrendous. I almost had to smack a few heads around the last time I was in there.
