Iām somewhere in the middle myself if iām honest ā¦ I like Donal Og the pundit but his reference left a sour taste that will never fully go away.
Iām contrary as well you know but I just donāt think itās appropriate for any individual who gives character references for convicted paedos to be benefiting from licence fee payers and given a platform on national tv.
Heās always been a media darling. If it was Spillane or Brolley who gave that reference Iād guess thereād have been a huge clamour to never allow them darken the door of RTE again. After a years sabbatical he swans back in and itās like nothing happened.

It just made me sick last night when he was spouting on about the great GAA family etc when he was the very one who gave a reference - basically a plea for leniency - to a guy who met a young girl through GAA and then abused her.
He wasnāt thinking about the great GAA family then or that poor girl when he was doing a favour for his mate.
He lost out on his well paid RTE gig for a year, big deal. The victim meanwhile will always have to live with what happened her and then see her perpatrators apologist on tv or radio most weekends.
It stinks to high heaven in my opinion.
But shur āOgieā is a grand pundit so move on, sweep sweep etc.
