That was as bad a half of football as Celtic have played all season, including the first half in Dortmund. They absolutely shat it collectively when the huns pressed them & the crowd got involved. One error led to another & the team got spooked - Scales & Hatate were particularly culpable in coughing up the ball, sometimes when there wasn’t even a press. I don’t think Schmeichel takes any blame for the goal myself, it was one of those awkward shots back across him & it went through CCV’s legs. Some tentative signs in the last 10/15 that Celtic are settling down a bit, although it could equally be the huns’ energy levels dropping. Celtic have been in this position only 2 weeks ago so big half time for Rodgers now. The huns will also get a chance to reset & Celtic will need to be much more secure & composed building up from the back.

Jesus that was terrible.
Schmeichel was probably our most accurate passer. Carter Vickers the only Celtic player to anywhere near a decent level.
The positive is we have a lot of room for improvement.
Hatate and Bernardo have been really disappointing in midfield. Sloppy passing and bullied off the ball. Bernardo was dreadful for the first half hour, then Hatate had a spell where he was nearly playing them in every time he touched it. Again the only positive is when we do get it past them Hatate in particular has been in great positions. But just too slow on it.
Same as the recent Hampden match we need to get the wingers more involved. We need their defence more involved. We haven’t really used the inverted full backs much today but we need to find other routes through midfield that aren’t straight passes to Bernardo and Hatate (or Engels if/when he is introduced). They will continue to sit on McGregor so need more from full backs and wingers looking for the ball.
