Yep, they remained on the plate.
Chips when an occasional treat should be perfect especially coming from a restaurant kitchen, great chips would possibly save a bad meal, not sure why a chef would run the risk of not carrying such an insurance policy

Tough day ahead. A bit of lambs liver gives a great start to a fella. I’ll dice a bit of onion and garlic into this and fire it on the pan now.
