Re: Best album this year

?Whatever people say I am, that?s what I?m not? for me is the album of the year by far. Top class stuff.
Clap your hands say yeah?s self-titled album is also top quality although I stand correctly to whether it is 2005 or 2006.
The Strokes 3rd album ?First Impressions of earth?. Although it was released on something like December 29th I?m including it anyway. Nowhere near as good as the first album but still a good listen.
The Raconteurs album is another good listen.
Oh yeah, nearly forgot Wolfmothers album is another cracker.

Fair point

Speaking of points/pints you around for one after work?
Invitation open to other forum members also…

Have the Arctic Monkeys album and still haven’t made up my mind.

Snow Patrol’s Eyes Wide Open is the best I’ve heard from this year. That’s not saying a lot really. It’s a very good album but not a great album.

You should be shot for that comment, perhaps the most stupid comment you’ll ever make here.

If you saw them live at Marley park as they played an orgasmic set, you’d change your mind, My Iron Lung & Just were immense. Gutted they didnt play Fake Plastic Trees & The Bends. Pyramid song sticks out in my mind too.

I am going to Wexford after work - can’t wait to pass by Liam Dunne’s house.

Haven’t listened to either of the Two Gallants albums yet. I do apologise.

I’m in shock I think myself and farmer may agree on something. Chris Martin is a knoob and Coldplay bland as fook

Would you believe that I had a ticket for it and I gave it up?
Exams were in a week you see and I had to chose between it and Leitrim in Croke Park

GAA wins everytime

Fair enough, Leitrim playing in Croker is a rarity

So I listened to most of the Two Gallants album on the way to Wexford - initial signs are promising but I won’t make a hasty judgment.

My travelling companion cited his 2 best albums of the year as being Editors and The Kooks. After being impressed by the latter myself at reading this recommendation has given me the push to get the album. Don’t know much about Editors apart from their singles but might check them out.

i like rhianna’s album: Music of the sun", esp that song that goes:
“If its loving that you want, ah dabba deeby dabba dabba dooby doo” great memories of listening to that song on the plane to the USA recently 8)

Also cracking song by Razorlight: “uh oh ohhhhh, trouble in America, dabba badda doo panic in America,” But rihanna beats those scummy british fookers

rock, on Two Gallants; bought 2 albums that time a few months ago, The Throes and What The Toll Tells. I don?t know which is the most recent but I?ve been listening to WTTT since Friday. You?re right, it?s fookin excellent. I gag for Bright Eyes and it reminds me of him. Really good stuff.

What the Toll Tells is the most recent. Summer Days, La Cruces Jail, Steady Rollin are all cracking songs. Don’t even own The Throes myself but I have most of it via live versions anyway. Haven’t been able to find it in HMV or Tower recently.

Got a new Bright Eyes one the other day. It’s B Sides and rarities I think. It’s called Noise Floor. Not sure it’s in the shops yet so you might need Sam’s contacts in the music industry to get it for you.

Yeah, saw Bright Eyes had a new one out. Bought one he did when he was 17 the other day but haven?t listened to it yet, can?t remember what it was called now either.

Two Gallants stuff is very powerful, two of the really long songs ?Some Slender Rest? and ?Threnody? are immense. Can?t stop singing ?Steady Rollin? either, all round quality stuff.
