I expect that this referendum will be defeated.
Is anyone on this site considering voting in favour of the referendum?

Whatever about the definition of marriage, i hope they spell it better than it is in the thread title
Good man
I will be voting yes.
Mainly because the Catholic Church and those horrible Catholic groups are saying to vote no.
Plus I think itâs also the correct thing to do.
Iâll be voting no, like any rational person.
Itâs none of my business, I shall be abstaining.
RTE seem to be really pushing the âyesâ side. They are continually quoting some obscure poll and suggest that 76% of people are in favour.
I would love to know who was queried for this poll

tbf there wouldnât be too many going to tell a pollster they are voting no on such a subject. And all the polls before the Seanad referendum suggested itâd sail through. This will be much closer than expected, would be amusing to see it fall just for the hysteria and tantrums from its cheerleaders afterwards, but itâll eventually get through and cue the gloatfest.
Can you clarify what this thread is about please.

Surely from now on they should have either 2 polls or no polls
Iâll be voting yes.
I will of course vote âyesâ because fuck the Catholic Church.
Also how does one vote for these things while working overseas.

Depends, are you on the Aran Islands?
Singapore.
If I were living in Ireland, I would vote yes.

This is why Ireland is renowned world wide as a bastion of western democracy- hard fought debates and well thought out votes, not âfuck the other fellaâ
Tough shit Paddy.
As I mentioned on another thread, PP are offering 5/1 for a No vote. Having listened to Breda OâBrien and Dominic Hannigan on Morning Ireland just now I would argue that this represents value. Fear is often what stops referendums passing and the No side have looked to immediately define the debate in terms of family and children. Even with (because of?) the upcoming family legislation, the Yes side seem woefully unprepared to date to counter this and seem pretty complacent; probably due to Dublin liberal media circle groupthink.
FWIW I will be voting yes.
Iâll be voting No, Iâve no wish to see cocksuckers foist themselves on the rest of society.
Iâve no problem with the gays in general just keep your depravity to yourselves please.
I donât go around demanding to hold my wifeâs hand in public so if they want normalisation, start acting fcuking normal.
