this isnt a pop at you briantinnion just my own views - I dont buy into this youll never beat the irish ole ole ole tripe
No offence taken Raven, I love supporting Ireland and until Wexford Youths came along and I got my “Life’s short, work hard, play hard” and “Play the beautiful game” tattoos it was my only real football outlet. Now personally I don’t give a sh!t that someone has gotten different seats but it is symbolic of the shambles of the FAI that they can’t do the simple things right.
I’m sure it’s obvious but I’d take a Celtic Champions League ahead of a Dublin Sam Maguire or Liam MacCarthy. To be honest I’d take qualifying for the CL ahead of either of those too.
If my beloved Fingal got representation in the Championship then I might change my mind.
Probably in hurling rather than football as that’s my first love. But I’d love to see us win a Leinster football title. That would be emotional.
A Celtic Champions League would challenge though.
I’m with you on that one. Just thinking recently that the Gorey by-pass is due to open in July and progress is great and all that but we’ll never have nights like we did in 96, 97 and 2004 where the place was jammed with every car from the matches passing through. Were you in Gorey to meet the team bus after the Leinster Final in 96 Bandage? Best night of my life - thinking of looking up at the team on the roof of the 64 pub gets the hairs up on the back of my neck.
I see it as a climb down in the sense that Sinn Fein have been trying to do business with the DUP under the terms of the Good Friday Agreement since 1998 whereas Paisley and his cohorts have consistently blocked any attempts at progress since then.
The whole farmer/raven relationaship has gone very Niall Quinn/Roy Keane which is quite ironic given the thread it’s happened in. Obviously Farmer is Quinn.
