Re the ratings - I’m not sure Boruc could have done much about the goal, but I’m not a keeper so I’ll take your point on it.
I continue to be less than impressed by the McManus/Pressley partnership. Pressley isn’t the leader I thought he was. McManus is all guts but his disastrous effort at catching Jason Scotland offside in the first half summed him up. Good recovery and his commitment and effort was faultless as ever but he needs some coaching in the art of defending - his tendency to back off players running at him and his holding of the defensive line need work.
Naylor put in a superb defensive shift.
Hartley is insipid. Thought Lennon shaded it in midfield today but both were easily eclipsed by the drive and purpose of Gravesen when he came on.
I think Queen’s Park do still play there but the pitch wasn’t an issue - Strachan said beforehand that it was the best in Scotland at the moment.
It appears like Tommy G might be off in the summer alright. I just don’t understand how anyone can think Lennon or Hartley or Jarosik are superior players. Even if you don’t think Gravesen is as good as we hoped he would be he’s still our best central midfielder.
Kennedy is playing in the reserves but they don’t have all that many games. He’s going out on loan over the summer to a club with a summer league. You could do worse than give Scully a call.
Pressley isn’t as good in the air or strong in the tackle as I previously thought. Maybe he was just wound up for Celtic games when he captained Hearts but he hasn’t really impressed me. His partnership with McManus doesn’t look very secure at all either and I think O’Dea has the potential to definitely be better than both of them and might even be better than both already.
The Tommy Gravesen situation is plain baffling me but who knows what goes on behind the scenes?
