Yeah agreeing with what is written here. Need to create short passing options for ourselves - particularly further up the park. And standing in front of their last man forward is a good idea.
Not sure on the 2-2-1 though. They were playing that sort of a system and defensively it was horrible for them. Any time we attacked with pace we got goalside of them because they didn’t know what runners to pick up. I think it’s easier to have man on man responsibility in defence.
There is a cracking big match atmosphere around town this morning. I met a large group of TFK fans outside Cassidy’s on Westmoreland Street, renewing our hateful relationship with the place. There was a small group of visiting Digi-Beat Ya fans around too. When they recognised me I was subjected to a few chants of “Where’s your Ball Ox gone?” All good hearted but the atmosphere is building.
Cannot wait for this evening to bring some football back to the people of this city.
I’m actually travelling up with the Wexford branch of thefreekick.com supporters’ club in about 15 minutes. There’s a good few bhoys coming up as they want to witness our first ever game under the floodlights.
Think we’re taking on the phone crowd alright. Key will be to disrupt their communication, get in their faces, show lots of aggression but then use the ball well when we win it back. A bit like the Manchester Red Marauders last night.
Just arrived here in Dublin ahead of tfk’s game. A huge amount of tfk flags and banners all the way up the N11 and myself and appendage even had to sign an autograph or two when we stopped in Gorey. Then we drove in around UCD to have a quick perv on our way into the city centre and there was loads of students wearing the new tfk merchandise that became available only yesterday. The next day delivery guarantee of our suppliers is extremely impressive.
The ladies’ t-shirt with The Stalker is Back written on the back is flying out of the shops.
Hard to concentrate on work today with the big game this evening. Should be a huge crowd. Plenty of girls in attendance to see Tinnion as well I’d imagine. It might inspire him to turn on the style for the gallery.
No. Thepiedpiper won’t be playing it seems. No real reason other than apathy. Disappointing after the enthusiasm and “drive” he showed in Kylmore Karting.
