Reasons why Kilkenny have been so successful

That’s exactly what he wanted you to think.

Hmmmm. Fuck me, he’s a super spy. Traces of polonium all over the Kk tipp border I’d wager.

Inbreeding

:joy::joy::joy:

Dude, if the nearest birds to me were Waterford chicks, I’d be banging my sister too.

That’s a joke by the way. It’s not meant to be derogatory against Waterford women. It’s just that I don’t like pikeys.

Getting a heap more grants in comparison to other counties.

I suppose,

Maybe they’re just better hurlers with a better work ethic than everyone else. Maybe everyone else needs to stop whinging and start working harder (or at the least, start copying them).

That has to be the most stupid reason so far, they’d walk Munster every year.

It’s not so obvious. They would have two or three games to win the Munster title and get that desired bye to the AI SF. As it is they often have one game in Leinster. The format is a shambles and is destroying hurling. Play the precious provincials and then put everyone in a seeded hat and play off like CL. Otherwise it’s just a never ending downward spiral for hurling and sad to see frankly.

Absolutely, it’s a complete shambles. Personally I’d get rid of the National League and have a tiered group stage competition leading to a finals series for the championship, with plenty of time left for the club championships in each county to happen. What to do with the provincial finals though, that’s the problem. Or rather the Munster championship, as I’d say the vast majority would be quite happy to see the the other provincial championships go the way of the Dodo. So play the Munster championship separately (relax Munster fuckers, just thinking aloud).
There’s no question there has to be changes to the structure. But in saying that, if a new structure was introduced tomorrow leading to more games for everyone, Kilkenny would still be there in September waiting for the next victim. But a new structure would force the other counties to speed up the time it takes to catch the Cats. If we’re all playing them a number of times every year, instead of the one shot everyone gets (with the odd, very odd, draw), the other counties will start to actually challenge them.

Ah here, don’t be ridiculous

Good post Fitzy. The league should be scrapped. Play off the provincials from April through May. Get seeding for reaching your provincial final as in you won’t be in the same group as the Munster/Leinster winners. Two groups of 6, 5 games each, top 8 into the quarters with first place playing 4th of opposing groups, 2nd/3rd and so forth. Bottom 4 play off for relegation. You get to use the venue of your choice for the home games that you get. It’s a no brainer ffs!

Let football do whatever they want to but hurling needs to lead the way here.

Good Plan.

Go a step further and make it top 4 qualify for a semi final rather than top 8 to quarters so group games are more meaningful. Top 8 would be predictable with only real battle to avoid KK in play off

Top two for semis and next 4 for quarters
