Republic of Ireland v Georgia 12/10/19 - Switzerland 15/10/19

Collins is clearly totally out of his depth here

I’d much prefer to criticise the guy who picked him rather than the player himself, it’s not his fault

Oh wait, that’s Mick, and I really like Mick

Right, Collins, you fucking cunt… :rage:

Bring on Stephen Kenny.

He can’t be any worse than this.

For Collins? Worth a go I guess

He just lost to fucking Iceland with the best Eire underage team in decades

A tactician like Trap or a man manager like M O’N would have won in Georgia and would have ensured a better half than that!!

Just remarking that to my buddy earlier. Trap had us set up professionally and had set piece routines.

This is a fucking joke.

I’ve an awful feeling Mick is gonna whip Connolly and leave Collins on

Stick Duffy up front and lamp away

Think we’ve been marginally better in a back four alright but still pretty hopeless. Don’t seem to have a plan. Trying to be more possession based but why have Collins up there then. And we seem to be trying balls over the top instead of trying to hit his chest. He hasn’t looked anywhere near good enough. I’d prefer Robinson or anyone really.

I’d like to see McClean back on the left against Lichsteiner. Let the two of them foul each other and we might get a few frees to fire into the box.

I’d be looking at Judge or someone too at some stage. Browne has been quiet.

Brady
Long
McCarthy
McGeady
Clark

All better than a good few of the players starting tonight. That is the main reason McCarhty should be coming in for a lot of flak after this round of games.

I also think driving out the greatest football administrator this country has seen midway through a qualifying campaign has also taken its toll.

Callum O’Dowda is coming on apparently

Hard to argue with that list. Clark probably the only one who wouldn’t have made much difference in the first half. The others are all better on the ball than the players we have out there.

It won’t make any difference. We are incapable of playing as a football team as an attacking force.

Mick can be heard quite clearly trying to cajole the players into putting some forward passes together and to show for the ball. We have been better on the ball in their half since the half hour but that isn’t saying much.

Serious lack of composure in the side. Plenty of honest effort but that will only get you so far. Collins has been better than Saturday but is still a long way off this level

O’Dowda played in that friendly against Poland last year

He was excellent and made the whole team tick

Don’t think we’ve seen much of him since then

A player who wants to get on the ball and can actually play makes a big difference

The fucking ref is a joker

It’s mad that Collins has gone from making his debut off the bench against Bulgaria in a friendly last month to main striker in these two pivotal away qualifiers.

I lost a lot of faith in @Big_Dan_Campbell on Saturday for not changing it until the 70th minute when there should have been one sub at half time and another by the hour mark.

I want to see more decisive action as the second half progresses here. They’re unchanged since Saturday and had a really high tempo match against the Danes. The pitch will take it out of them and they’ve conceded lots of late goals. It’s an obvious point but we can’t give them the breathing room of a second goal in the opening part of the second half. Give them something to think about in the last quarter.

O’Dowda coming on apparently.

Darragh has a lovely suit on

This game is effectively a free hit with 3 points required from 2 games. Go out and attack to fuck, if they lose 5-nothing, what about it?

If it’s O’Dowda for Collins we’ll get a result and if it’s O’Dowda for Connolly we’re fucked. Time for McCarthy to be a man.
