Wasn’t Tomas on the panel in 97? Think the old rules were in place then where only 24 got a medal, wasn’t that the time of the Mike Hassett row, captain at start of the year before being dropped and not getting a medal and his brother captained the team?!

Marc was a top player, but Tomas and Darragh were better.

Reminds me another Mark who played along side his brother - Mark Waugh mouthing off at James Ormond as he came to the crease to bat for the first time on his test debut at The Oval during the 2001 Ashes. Waugh was in his usual first slip position and started giving the usual witty Australia jibes “Jeez guys is that the best the Poms have to offer”, to which the proud young Lion replied - “Well at least I’m the best cricketer in my own family”. The rest of the Australian team in earshot in fairness were pissing themselves laughing and shouting “Good on you Pom”. Mark Waugh wasn’t one bit amused.

Nice story but none of that is true.

Maurice Fitzgerald should have got the whole 24 in 1997 .

Did Larry o Gorman call everyone Brother ???

Aye, I think it was as a result of a head injury he suffered once. There may have been some permanent damage inflicted.

Well I heard he calls most young fellas in Wexford “Son”
