Huge floating wind farm looks a game changer.

cheers mate

This should get the eco socialists to fall in line behind Eamon.

The ESB have permission to borrow 12bn to fund our switch to renewables

Silly fuckers. They find it, hand it to the yanks for a few crumpled notes and then have to borrow money to fund renewable energy. Some shower of dickheads

How are we going to deal with curtailment when the wind drops and we can’t get the 70% of the grid energy? Ramp up and down when needed?

You seem to find problems.in every positive development in regards to our Paris commitments

Well done @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy

The green party have no idea on the practical application of their ideas. Do you even know how we currently do it? It was a massive achievement to allow the grid take 70% of the required energy from wind up from 50%

The practical.applications of investing in renewables?

I’m not arguing about investing in renewable energy, wind turbines are great but how do you deal with fluctuations in the wind? How do eirgrid manage this? Do you know the practically of this is what I’m asking or do you know why they cap wind energy contributing max 70% to the grid? How is the baseline grid requirement achieved?

Let the experts worry about it mate

Point proven you don’t have a clue or you’ll realise that shannon LNG is required infrastructure. Or your in denial as its against your ideology.

Whats your opinion on nuclear?

no mate, there are experts with more knowledge I trust

in regard to the LNG terminal, if it is for storing Fracked Gas then we shouldnt be importing it

im not an expert on this, in fact i know fuck all, but id trust friends of the earth on this ahead of New Fortress Energy

Franked gas is the cheapest most efficient option at the moment but what are the experts working on do you know? What will replace natural gas in the next 20 years? Gas is way better for the environment than coal or oil but its time is numbered. Whats the alternative? Gas fired turbines give the base load in this country to mitigate curtailment from wind energy along with imports from the interconnections. But do you know is the LNG just a short sighted infrastructure project so ireland can destroy the environment? Or are the green party picking what they want to hear from experts or community groups again?

The greens were right about daysel in 2008…

Then the science changed :joy:
