I was jerkinā the curtain in the dark.
CM Punk! CM Punk!
Awesome.
John Cena, while you lay there, hopefully as uncomfortable as you possibly can be, I want you to listen to me.
I want you to digest this because before I leave in 3 weeks with your WWE Championship, I have a lot of things I want to get off my chest.
I donāt hate you, John. I donāt even dislike you. I do like you. I like you a hell of a lot more than I like most people in the back.
I hate this idea that youāre the best. Because youāre not. Iām the best. Iām the best in the world. Thereās one thing youāre better at than I am and thatās kissing Vince McMahonās ass.
Youāre as good as kissing Vince McMahonās ass as Hulk Hogan was. I donāt know if youāre as good as Dwayne though. Heās a pretty good ass kisser. Always was and still is.
Whoops! Iām breaking the fourth wall! (Punk waves to the camera)
I am the best wrestler in the world.
Iāve been the best since day one when I walked into this company. And Iāve been vilified and hated since that day because Paul Heyman saw something in me that nobody else wanted to admit. Thatās right, Iām a Paul Heyman guy. You know who else was a Paul Heyman guy? Brock Lesnar. And he split just like Iām splitting. But the biggest difference between me and Brock is Iām going to leave with the WWE Championship.
Iāve grabbed so many of Vincent K. McMahonās brass rings that itās finally dawned on me that there just that, theyāre completely imaginary. The only thing thatās real is me and the fact that day in and day out, for almost six years, I have proved to everybody in the world that I am the best on this microphone, in that ring, even in commentary! Nobody can touch me!
And yet no matter how many times I prove it, Iām not on your lovely little collector cups. Iām not on the cover of the program. Iām barely promoted. I donāt get to be in movies. Iām certainly not on any crappy show on the USA Network. Iām not on the poster of WrestleMania. Iām not on the signature thatās produced at the start of the show. Iām not on Conan OāBrian. Iām not on Jimmy Fallon. But the fact of the matter is, I should be.
This isnāt sour grapes. But the fact that Dwayne is in the main event at WrestleMania next year and Iām not makes me sick!
Oh hey, let me get something straight. Those of you who are cheering me right now, you are just as big a part of me leaving as anything else. Because youāre the ones who are sipping on those collector cups right now. Youāre the ones that buy those programs that my face isnāt on the cover of. And then at five in the morning at the airport, you try to shove it in my face and get an autograph and try to sell it on Ebay because youāre too lazy to go get a real job.
Iām leaving with the WWE Championship on July 17th. And hell, who knows, maybe Iāll go defend it in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Maybeā¦Iāll go back to Ring of Honor.
(Punk looks at the camera and waves)
Hey, Colt Cabana, how you doing?
The reason Iām leaving is you people. Because after Iām gone, youāre still going to pour money into this company. Iām just a spoke on the wheel. The wheel is going to keep turning and I understand that. Vince McMahon is going to make money despite himself. Heās a millionaire who should be a billionaire. You know why heās not a billionaire? Because he surrounds himself with glad-handed, non-sensical, douchebag (censored) yes men, like John Laurinaitis, whoās going to tell him everything he wants to hear, and Iād like to think that maybe this company will better after Vince McMahon is dead. But the fact is, itās going to be taken over by his idiotic daughter and his doofus son-in-law and the rest of his stupid family.
Let me tell you a personal story about Vince McMahon alright. We do this whole (anti) bully campaign
Mic cut off.
Real or work. I genuinely canāt decide.
Yeah Iām with you on that. To hear New Japan and ROH being mentioned on WWE TV isnāt something you would expect Vincent K. to approve of though. I hope itās a shoot.
He said that on Raw last night? Unbelievable scenes.
woo woo ! you know it. Punk got a few things of his chest there.
Next week Raws spoilers as last night was a double taping.
Show ended with the Cena/Vince angle. Vince came out and said that Punk wanted more than he was worth. He was asking for too much money for a new contract and making too many demands. He said he canāt let Punk have the title shot because he canāt afford to have his champion leave for another promotion. Cena also brought up confiscating signs, firing Daniel Bryan. Cena argued with him and Vince told Cena not to wind up like Hulk Hogan. Cena said people want Punk to wrestle him and he said he doesnāt care, that he has to do the right thing for his business. Cena got mad and said if he canāt defend against Punk than the title isnāt worth anything and handed Vince the belt and left. Vince told him to reconsider and he told Cena that Punk can get his title shot, but that if Punk leaves the arena with the belt, then Cena will be fired. The thing is, Punk can still win and the Money in the Bank winner can then cash it in and Cena wnāt be fired because it was described as Punk leaving the arena as champion, not winning the match.
So it was a work then.
Most definitely, he probably wasnāt supposed to say Hi to Colt Cabana or mention ROH of NJPW though.
Yes. It was too good to be true. A shame it was a worked shoot.
Is Punk actually any good? Never seen him properly. Dip in once in a while when Iām bored and thereās nothing else on. The Nexus angle looked decent to me but they are gone now are they? What happened there? Think WWE could do with having a couple of good stables like the DX/Nation/Ministry days.
One of the greatest mic workers ever, never really had the chance to fully exploit it in WWE though until last night really. In ring ability is far superior to most of the main eventers but wouldnāt be near as good as Daniels or the likes.

History was made tonight in Melbourne, Australiaā¦I defended the Internet Championship for the very first timeā¦and I won! WWWYKI
Any thoughts on tonightās event? Is this the end of CM Punk in WWE?
Probably not, funny seeing Cena getting booed is his hometown while Punk got cheered last Monday. Given that proper wrestling fans tend to be at PPVs the roof should get blown off the place tonight. Off all this week so Iāll probably watch this. Colt Cabana will be in attendance too
This is on Sky Sports 1.
