Rockall

Are we finally getting our island back? Seems like we’ve bombed the Brits into negotiating again:

Officials meet to discuss division of Rockall seabed

Officials from Ireland and three other countries are meeting today for negotiations to divide up the ocean floor in the north Atlantic.

Under a new UN treaty, countries can claim a greater share of the ocean floor if they can show a direct link with their own land mass.

Today’s talks in Reykjavik will be attended by officials from Ireland, Britain, Iceland and Denmark.

All four countries claim ownership of the disputed Hatton-Rockall plateau, where experts believe huge oil and gas deposits may be located.

Personally I’d settle for getting 81.25% of rockall back now. It’ll be a stepping stone to get the remaining part of it back where it belongs down the line in the future.
