I was down on the Prom, taking it on the chin.
I hope Tyrone’s magnificent six in a row in the greatest pre-season GAA competition in the world, the Dr. McKenna Cup, cheered you up, mate.
A historic achievement and certainly cause for celebration.
People who accuse me of not facing the music should also note that I was not online to celebrate this success last night.
I was otherwise engaged.
Send the good lady my best again, mate.
What do we think the champ should do now ?
I would be inclined to bypass the clay court season and rest up for a tilt at SW19 and Flushing Meadows
The injury will keep him out of Paris.
The GOAT should just ignore the turd fest that is french mud open and go to straight to the hallowed grounds of SW19 and then play a couple of warm up events for the US Open. No point now in killing himself.
But being the true champion he is in can see him playing one of Indian Wells or miami and then monte Carlo and Rome in the lead up to the French.
I’m nodding in agreement mate. Nothing to be gained going to Paris
His sole title in Paris has a large asterisk beside it, he has never beaten the greatest clay court player in the world in a clay court Grand Slam.
Yawn. Come back to us when the arse picker has 18 grand slams.
Come back to us when Federer beats Nadal at every slam.
Sure at the rate your going if federer wins the French by beating Nadal, you won’t have a pot left to piss in. You will have to go of and find some other cause.
By the way he won’t win the French. Djokovic will win that.
Federer only wins the cheap ones - 12 of those before Nadal had tasted success outside clay and Djokovic had won a slam.
Is it not the same three points for beating Hull or Crystal Palace if you’re winning on the final Sunday of a Grand Slam?
Ooooooooooooooft
In terms on quantitative count of titles? Yes
In terms of measure of greatness? No.
Why did it take Nadal so long to get good outside of clay courts?
He grew up on clay courts, he was a clay court specialist.
Grass and hard courts play quite similar, clay is a completely different game. Nadal is not and never has been a big server, this is a huge component in being a hit on grass and hard courts. Nadal’s all round game has always compensated for him not being a big server.
Eurosport now guys.
What a man
