The injury will keep him out of Paris.
The GOAT should just ignore the turd fest that is french mud open and go to straight to the hallowed grounds of SW19 and then play a couple of warm up events for the US Open. No point now in killing himself.
But being the true champion he is in can see him playing one of Indian Wells or miami and then monte Carlo and Rome in the lead up to the French.

Sure at the rate your going if federer wins the French by beating Nadal, you won’t have a pot left to piss in. You will have to go of and find some other cause. 
By the way he won’t win the French. Djokovic will win that.
Federer only wins the cheap ones - 12 of those before Nadal had tasted success outside clay and Djokovic had won a slam.

In terms of measure of greatness? No.
Why did it take Nadal so long to get good outside of clay courts?
He grew up on clay courts, he was a clay court specialist.
Grass and hard courts play quite similar, clay is a completely different game. Nadal is not and never has been a big server, this is a huge component in being a hit on grass and hard courts. Nadal’s all round game has always compensated for him not being a big server.
