Am I right in saying there were discrepancies with the birth cert? There were also issues with regards the name the parents provided matching up to the register office details? Also the hospital, the Coombe I think, had no records of a child with the details they provided being born on that date. Surely these are things you should know about your child?
I’m not buying the passport photo thing as much, but given the details provided there surely was a basis for some degree of investigation, however taking the child may have been a step too far. Of course because they were Roma’s, some people will swallow this one up in their own agenda. As for TV3 and the tabloids, they can go fuck the pondscum.

Discrepancies iwth the birth cert? People don’t write their own birth certs. The sophisticated investigation carried out failed to check under the maiden name of the mother. (Bizarre mistake because babies are often registered in maternity hospitals under the mother’s maide name, even if that’s not going to be the surname of the baby). When they checked under the maiden name, they found there was a record of the birth on the relevant day.
There was a reason I placed a question mark after the sentence Rocko I was asking the question. If thats what happened, then as I said further back, its quite the clusterfuck.
There was a woman on the radio this morning who said children who have already been positively identified as being in a highly vulnerable situation can be waiting up to a year to get access to a social worker.
Yet the HSE and Gardai managed to raise a whole circus of social workers to go raid this particular families home.
Mick Wallace making a right tit of himself on Twitter at the moment suggesting the Gardai leaked the story to the media lapdogs. He should stick to what he knows.
I didnt realise about the mothers maiden name, thats some fuck up so, but does it not stand to reason that supposed it turned out to be an abductee, and when they returned the child was gone, thered be twice as much of a shitstorm. The only thing that makes this case different from the one in greece is iin greece it emerged that the child was abducted. Could just as easily been the same.

circus is right
No family should be subjected to that sort of trauma on the back of a speculative hunch of a nosey busybody. The authorities should have done the necessary research and background checks before storming in and taking the child.

Have we had a public apology from anyone yet?
Indeed. @maroonandwhite implying that the actions here were reasonable by saying it could easily have been the same as Greece is bordering on @artfoley and @Fitzy levels of stupidity.
Explain to me how it was different to Greece. Obviously they should have done background checks first here, but they didnt do it in greece either. And how come you werent here two days ago championing their human rights.
If you have abducted a child and need to move it between safe houses today is the day to do it.
Wait until middle class parents cannot explain an arm break at a and e and child taken into custody. This was all predicted at time of children’s rights referendum.
I remember when Mick Walkace was first elected and I was calling him a fraud and a gangster Mac was one of the fist to cut me down. Hindsight is 20/20 I guess.
