I missed it live. I was standing in the stairwell of a packed bus returning from Croke Park after Dublin beat Laois, listening to Greg Allen describe it all on the radio in my earphones. I legged it up from the bus stop in the rain hoping to see Van De Velde’s saving putt but I missed it by seconds. He didn’t miss.
And then he collapsed in the play off like wet toilet roll.
