Gullit had serious knee problems during Italia 90 and needed an operation. A dog with a mallet up his hole would have minded him during that tournament.
Morris was the first name on the team sheet in euro 88 and italia 90. He was outstanding in those tournaments, kept great players quiet.
Irwin never played in a tournament for Ireland, was exposed a few times in qualifiers.

Morris was excellent in the Euro Qualifiers and in the Euros. I remember well I’m old enough the Holland game was my confirmation day and I was in the Pike Inn in Limerick watching it that’s all I wanted to do. Denis Irwin is one of the goats of Irish full backs. deal with it
