The scummy soccer crowd are throwing a kings ransom at an unemployed near 60 year old who was ran out of the job 16 years ago and who’s managerial experience in the intervening years has largely been in the lower leagues.

Andy Farrell is a great appointment for Ireland. The rfu were begging him to come back in the summer. If he could get Lancaster to come onboard as no 2 then I think Ireland would be well set post Schmidt

There was a fellow on Matt Cooper there earlier and he reckoned that Joe Schmidt wouldn’t be going for the New Zealand job. He is very thin skinned and doesn’t take criticism well. While he got a soft ride from the Irish rugby press corps he couldn’t expect the same in New Zealand

The media in Ireland wouldnt be completely gone on Schmidt. He treats them with the respect they deserve i.e. little enough. They especially despise the fact he gives them fuck all tibits and keep them in the dark around injuries.

Wasn’t it last year - or even this year - a few of the rugby hacks got the hump with Joe after he abandoned some long held tradition of the head coach having a quick chat with a few of them straight after matches?

Think he had the hump with that Ruairi O’Connor chap (surname might be incorrect) who wrote something critical about Schmidt and so just didn’t bother engaging with any of them.

To be fair fair having listened to Ruairi on Off the Ball a couple of times I’d say Joe was dead right to treat him with contempt and disdain.
