Maybe Labour can save it alright. But the collapse from the size of the empire to the economically and socially broken England that exists today is remarkable. If it did continue on its current trajectory it wouldnt be a surprise if the jocks fell over the wall and took it over.

I see New Zealand are playing a three test tour of South Africa in 2026.
Australia getting left behind.
The lions tour is hardly going to gain much traction anymore.
Those Saturdays in June when you might have England v Australia, New Zealand v France and Ireland v South Africa are always brilliant.
A late night game involving Argentina as well.
That’s mad. I watched the last few minutes of New Zealand winning the 1996 Test series in South Africa there yesterday. That was New Zealand’s first ever Test series win in South Africa. I was thinking to myself that it was just as well they won that series as there hasn’t been one since and there would never be another one.

The three test tours are always tremendous fun. They should look at bringing those back.
Argentina coming to Ireland for a three Test series would be incredible.
