The Ulster Bank League is the highest DOMESTIC league in rugby in Ireland. The Professional game plays in an international league … The LOI pisses all over the Ulster Bank League.
What does a travel document have to do with citizenship?
You’re comparing apples with oranges, bro. A highly successful domestic set up that feeds the entire national team versus a tin pot regime that is plundered by the man at the top, a man who is financially wealthy from his family’s wealth anyway, who gets paid more than the Spanish and Italian FAs combined and you in particular seem to be delighted with this arrangement.
I just can’t square this off with your nationalist, socialist views in other aspects of life.
I’m not defending anything — I’m merely saying that Ireland’s highest domestic rugby league is in an awful way - The League of Ireland is in much better shape … your point about feeding the national team has been dealt with - that just shows how relatively easy it is to make it at rubby … @GeoffreyBoycott even said that all you need is the right genes to succeed at rubby.
Yes but you are only insisting on domestic league so that you can compare Ireland’s top tier in soccer with Ireland’s third tier in rugby. It is not a valid comparison.
You want to compare professional franchises that encompass whole provinces against part-time clubs from various counties …go way you gee bag.
The LOI is a fair comparison to the Ulster league. They are both club based and are the highest domestic leagues for their sports.
Is it? Wow, so rugby and soccer are comparable now?
I think a more valid comparison would be the LOI with domestic soccer leagues in other similar sized countries, say Scotland or Denmark. How does the LOI compare to them in relation to performances in Europe or attendances? How much does the head of the Danish FA get paid I wonder?
You’re being a fanny now ---- the sports arent comparable but the level they are operating on is. Stop being a fanny.
Huh?
Ha?
You scallywag! You remind me a lot of my old mentor @chocolatemice who no longer posts here. I look forward to getting to e-know you better over the coming weeks and months, Robert.
What in God’s earth have the scummy soccer crowd been crowing on about here today? It makes no sense to me. Oirish rubby is extremely well organised and structured. Are they disputing this?
If the soccer crowd were half as organised and structured they might not be an embarrassment to rheir country and they may even develop a player or two that would not be the subject of ridicule and laughter amongst proper soccer nations
Apparently ‘we’ regularly punch above our weight. If the reference to ‘we’ is the Eire team, the bar is hardly all that high when you’re togging off in ditches and the highest level of domestic soccer is pub league standard.
This grand slam win against England is rapidly turning into the game that rocked the forum. …
1 in 5 adults that play rugby in oireland play it professionally
Lolzers.
@Rocko played professional rugby but the other rugby fans here must be quite bad at sports not to have made it.
I’m pissed off I only got into rugby this week
Yeah its unreal. Its added a huge amount of new rugby fans into the mix. Great to see
No adult in ireland plays soccer professionally
