Rugby World Cup 2019 - Ireland shit the pot all over again

Where are you getting your odds from so? - and can you give me these odds on the three games I outlined above

You seem to think odds are pulled from thin air

Ireland beating England in the 2011 Cricket World Cup was a big shock

Especially with Ireland at 111/5 chasing 328

You tell me where you are getting them so mate?? explain it out for me there — the known variables are that both teams were ranked in the top 15, as fagan pointed out, SA were beaten all that year and even lost to Argentina …

In play is different. Japan hit 425/1 in play v South Africa.

What is this mathematical equation?

Pie the sky squared/the square root of nothing = bullshit?

Leicester were 5,000/1 at the start of the 2015/16 season

Not a one off game. How simple are you.

It was one of the biggest shocks ever in rugby, even outside a World Cup. Up there with Rock beating Belvo in the 1954 Leinster Schools Senior Cup Final, Munster beating the touring New Zealand team in 1978 or the British Lions winning the 1997 test series in South Africa.

Can you explain how and where you got your info to work out these odds please? and can you apply it to the three soccer games I outlined in comparison

You never said anything about one off games

You’re now trying to move the goalposts when the facts don’t suit

It’s almost like he’s making it up.

Why do you keep bringing scummy soccer into a thread on the Rugby World Cup?

Stradbally beating 10 in a row chasing Portlaoise

An assertion was made about the biggest shocks in team sports — soccer, the only true world team sport, will always be brought up as a comparison in any conversation on team sports.

Soccer is a sport which variously uses a lottery, the toss of a coin and the drawing of lots to decide a drawn game or a tie in major finals like the World Cup and European Championships. Yeah, rugby really should ape soccer.

No one mentioned anything about aping – two different sports completely - try follow what’s being said here.

But while we are on it - how do you think a drawn game in a knockout tournament should be resolved in soccer ball?

What are your thoughts on a Rugby World Cup Group Stage Match being declared a draw if it is called off due to the weather?
