Alright I don’t like rugby but I like Ireland and I will never cheer against my country. Here’s the story with the rugby world cup:

Ireland were guaranteed at least quarter final when this thing started. If that’s all they get to then it’s a failure. They have to beat South Africa or they’ve failed. South Africa are objectively slight favourites because that’s what the bookies say so the World Cup will probably be a failure. That’s sad.

Ireland will win by 20 plus. Japan aren’t going to commit hara-kari in a game they’d be most unlikely to win anyway. All their focus will be on the very winnable game v Scotland which would likely see them qualify for a quarter-final for the first time.
