Ah not even close tbf. They lost games at both the 2019 and 2023 World Cups in the pool stages and won by incredibly small margins this time. They were steeped to get over the line against Wales in the semi-final 4 years ago too.

The real Rosenborg situation was New Zealand between 2005 and 2015 when they were utterly dominant and even hammered the Lions. They bottled the World Cup against France in 2007 when arguably at the peak of their powers.

Sam Cane is only the fourth captain to be sent off in a Rugby World Cup match and only the second in a knockout match. The other one to be sent off in a knockout match was Wales number 7 Sam Warburton in the first half of the 2011 semi-final between France and Wales. Wales lost by one point in a match they really should have won.

They very nearly lost to what’s perceived as an average English team last week. I don’t think they were outstanding tonight considering they played the majority of the game with an extra man.
