In fairness New Zealand have a very mediocre team at the minute. Ireland should be beating them 9 times out of ten.

England might take some solace in the fact that France lost at home to Fiji in an Autumn international a few years back and France turned it around in a big way. But France weren’t imploding financially like England now.

The English head coach gig has never been less attractive even if they turf out Borthwick after the World Cup. They’re in big trouble domestically and lads will know they’ll be expected to work miracles almost immediately.

The game has moved away from the dull grinding style england are trying to play, that Borthwick won a premiership with. Even the boks with all their size have filled the backline with pace and they have massive but mobile forwards.
England don’t know what they want, their discipline is shit and the style they play is more likely to lead to injuries and cards.
Loads of talent in England. More than enough to be v competitive but they need a visionary even above the head coach to land it long term
