Russia Vs Ukraine (Part 1)

Once a bank run starts, the only rational thing to do is to try and withdraw your money ASAP. Panic is rational.

How much do wheelbarrows cost in Russia?

It’s actually worse than that. They are buying their gas off Russia and asking then the USA to pay for their protection against Russia ! You couldn’t make this shit up. Trump said this to Merkel in 2018 but again nobody bothered to say he had a point as that means social suicide and media blacklisting.

Belarus is holding a “referendum” today on whether to place Russian nuclear weapons in Belarus.

The “referendum” will pass, like the Crimean “referendum” did.

Merkel was a bit of a disaster for the long term positioning of Germany. I watched this a while ago and couldn’t help but think that she made consistent blunders but somehow everyone said how important she was for Europe. Many of her decisions were rash, like wholesales opening Germany’s borders for refugees and banning nuclear.

Fucking hell :pensive:

The biggest fears could be realised, a defeated Putin takes the nuclear option

Has Putin gone a bit mad* lately? Reading a few reports that he has become increasingly paranoid and unhinged, especially since COVID started.

*relatively speaking. Hes always been mad

Any chance some in Putins inner circle take him out?

Is Rubio hinting at something here?

Russia is losing this fight. Putin knows it. This is the time to press home the advantage, to try and force regime change and to try and kill him by any means necessary.

There should be no negotiations under any circumstances.

He is using madman theory. All military and foreign policy decisions carry risk. When dealing with a Hitler type figure, the riskiest are those which purport to carry less risk. This is senior hurling of the most senior kind, and it’s now kill or be killed.

Rubio talks tough now. And tough talk is needed, along with tough action.

But Rubio also did this. He did not stand up to the Putin lapdog who led his own party and country.

I’ll be a bit more specific, is he suggesting that Putin’s health is failing?

Looking like this is the most likely ending. He has gone mad.

There have been rumours about Putin’s health for some time. Around the time of Biden’s election it was rumoured that Putin had Parkinson’s. It is also rumoured he has or had cancer.

There does appear to me to be something slightly off about Putin’s bodily movement and facial gestures. It is sort of jerky.

But who knows.

What appears absolutely clear, and is far more pertinent than any possible truth to him having cancer or Parkinson’s, is that 22 years of years of absolute power have left him in the fantasy world that pretty much all dictators end up, a fantasy world of absolute power, absolute hubris, yet absolute paranoia. A world of total delusion. Everything is bullshit of his own making. And he believes it totally.

Hopefully

Looks like there’s some truth in this

That would worry me more. He’s more likely to fire a nuke if he truly has gone mental.
