Actually sounds like a dream scenario, you’re not gonna get that type of accommodation in the city,
I was actually wondering about caravan/mobile home parks as an emergency option
No not on twitter and I certainly wouldn’t join to see the ramblings of some as deranged as ewan. Im obviously wrong in my ascertion that there has been little or no opposition to it.
If this war drags on indefinitely then I can see this refugee issue becoming a fairly divisive debate here.
In fairness a small country like ours, with a population of circa 5m, taking in 200,000 people or an unlimited amount through an open door policy will be controversial enough.
I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask questions about what Ireland’s policy will be - will these refugees be granted citizenship after they are here a set time, will they be forcibly repatriated if the war ends, what happens if they don’t want to return home if there’s peace in Ukraine etc - but no politician dare raise these questions for fear of being labelled racist by the Twitter mob.
Joe Duffy will be inundated with cranks in September. ‘My Johnny/Mary was turned down for a place in the local school but a Ukrainian child got in etc.’
Ah right, you’re going mad about that so you decided to reply to a completely different post that had nothing to do with it,
Fair enough. Seethe away, you’ll find that a lot of people will want to help a humanitarian emergency like this, most people aren’t cunts
Mad about what? I generally find generous kind people do more and say less. Its best to be wary of the sermonising types
Did you even put your name forward?
My wife has done all the work, yes, she has put ‘our name forward’
You just rail away at the world here, I find that people who make a difference do things in real life, the permanently angry try to make a difference by tapping a keyboard all day long
