I donāt think he is against Ukrainians in particular, more anybody non native that came in the last few years with the scale of the homeless issue in the country. Iād surmise the position is that we shouldāve ignored the plight in Ukraine.
The issues are deeper, structural and based on government decisions going a long way back, but the Ukrainian people are the human face if it in Ireland. It irks a lot of people how quickly those modular houses went up for Ukrainians when thereās 4 generations of families in the one council house etc cetera and endless waiting lists. Iāve heard this plenty around the place in school, in the pubs, at matches. I think itās why FF/FG are moderating their views or at least the language theyāre using to account for this.

Just on this, Iāve knowledge of family living arrangements that are hair raising and youād be straight on to Tulsa only you know the people are doing their best and theyāve nowhere else to go. These are people that are working as well. Youād get nothing to rent for less than 3k a month most places, people donāt have it
The state owning big tracts of land in places like Chapelizod or wherever and having every attempt at planning and building social housing objected to is scandalous. Legislate to mitigate this. Thereās no real will to solve this though. Itās a new time and the stuff that befell the likes of Moyross and Southall etc might not be repeated as people have more options, but they need the foundation of somewhere to live. Just build it.
They need to start building themselves again. Builders would of course take the piss, but they are happy to overrun on everything else.

Itās been said in here multiple times but the wealth gap is massive now. The bottom rung are barely clinging onā¦ and as a result we see a lot of despair and misplaced anger.

I know of a kid that was very active previously that has put on 4 stone because theyāve been living in a hotel on and off for the past 2 and a half years. Itās crazy whatās going on. Iād say one or both parents are suffering with depression to be honest, because they know thereās no way out of it.

An awful lot of people who rant about āthe homelessā have no clue what theyāre even ranting about.
They think the term āhomelessā refers to people sleeping outdoors. In the overwhelming majority of cases it doesnāt. From what can make out, something like 1% of homeless people sleep rough.
These ranters all want to return to an imagined golden age. Which is presumably the time of the tenements.
All youāve said there is that heās just racist and small minded in general. He has posted āhon Vladā about Putin, the guy responsible for countless murder and death and for abducting thousands of children.
