I donât think theyâll be interested in a ceasefire until theyâve come close to establishing a new border. Kharkiv and odessa are probably realistic ambitions, but theyâre not as russian leaning as donetsk etc. Theyâre in the driving seat, trumps proposals have come at an awkward time for them. Theres a 70% chance that witkoff will be sent home with his tae in a mug.
Most of the Ukrainians I know are from Kharkiv region. No way in hell will they accept being part of Russia

The Ukrainian translators we had in the airport would often refer to Ukrainians from Donetsk as Russians.
One time a few came in from Crimea and said they were Ukrainian and one of the translators, whoâs lived in Ireland years, lost it with them. Said âyou made your choice to be Russian, now youâre Ukrainian when it suitsâ
*translator was mental, so that could be a factor
