Ryder Cup 2025 at Bethpage Black Municipal Public Golf Course (it's like hacking around Corballis), Farmingdale, New York, USA - Previously Incorporating 2023 at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club, Rome, Italy 🐐

Who do we think will win this?

I always think if the Americans don’t fall out with each other they’ll win it easy but that doesn’t look like the worst European team.

The competition will definitely miss the likes of Patrick Reed and Jordan spieth.

Gas the Americans have picked cantlay after he through the toys out of the pram over not being paid to play last time.

A lot of big hitters are missing for the yanks too. Dj, spieth, Koepka and of course p reed.

That American team doesn’t look the best to me and Bryson and cantlay could surely piss everyone off too.

I’m going for a european win.

I’d agree, it’s a stacked :eu: team, first away win since the Miracle at Medinah incoming

It does look a strong European team to me on paper but what would I know.

Hope you are keeping well bod95.

The Americans will set it up to be a birdie-fest on home turf, rough cut back and plenty room to spray it everywhere. It could turn into a fairly febrile atmosphere if Europe can keep it close, between the personalities on their side with the Noo Yawk crowd

Trump going as well I think

When does it start?
Hopefully Europe win. One of the more enjoyable sights in sport is the frat boys getting riled up.

Friday afternoon our time

Took a paddy power offer in the shops yesterday on Europe to win at 4/1. That’ll keep me interested

Guys should we update the thread title? Rome was majestic but there’s a new & incredibly daunting task at hand. I don’t fancy our chances tbh. I don’t want to do a @Cheasty & reference fascism & kleptocracy on every other thread…but Bethpage Black Course can be boisterous at the very best of times. This will be several notches beyond that with the way America has descended into a rogue state, even since the last renewal stateside. Trump will be there. It will be raucous, rowdy & possibly even bawdy & toxic. Call it xenophobia, isolationism, racism or whatever you like, but America is destroying itself & maybe even the world from within. But I reckon our continent’s golf team will fall before theirs. I think our boys will be in for savage verbal abuse from tanked up Todds in MAGA hats. I see Captain Bradley opened up the week at 9am yesterday by gathering his squad around the first tee to hear a speech from a 9/11 family member. This will only ramp up throughout the week & I wouldn’t be surprised if Charlie Kirk’s widow shows up at some stage. It’s hard to win away from home these days - it took a miracle at Medinah - & I don’t believe the conditions exist for that to happen again. We’ve seen that fat, grassing cunt from Offaly lose the rag if Giles from Guildford twitches during his backswing at Wentworth. Imagine how easily he’ll implode at Bethpage receiving a torrent of abuse all weekend. I see this as a 16.5 to 11.5 type victory for USA USA USA. They’ll get a lead early on & never relinquish it.

Hopefully it’s tight going into the singles anyway. Think it kicks off at 5 pm on Sunday. Ideal stuff.

Any word on the Captain’s Run @Ralphie ?

Are we starting to see any trends with the practice pairings? I see Ludvig & Viktor were put together yesterday - that’s a potential pairing. Who’ll Rory take under his wing this time? It’s a relatively experienced lineup though.

Id imagine the pairings will be exactly the same as last time. The europeans will be channeling the dirty dozen on an impossible mission that they somehow succeed in. Like the dirty dozen they wont all make it though as a few inevitably get shot…

Most of the Europe team are friends/“golf buddies” of Trump so his presence may not have a malign affect on them , but the sight of fat car dealers from Alberqueque and botox injected pharmaceutical salesmen from Des Moines in MAGA hats tanked up on Miller Light and ramping up the jingoism should cause some soilage in their golf chinos at some point.

What temperatures are we looking at
Biffo doesn’t want it too hot

Jesus Christ, bring on the first tee on Friday. This will get the blood pumping. Great to see D’Arcy & Walton in it.
