Craig Gordon was brutal for the first own goal - no hun near the cross & he diverted it onto McCart. A lucky break to put them back in front after Hearts had them on the rack at 1-1 & then a second & this time fairly inexplicable own goal by McCart. I think that’ll be it with Sevco - some wins stacked up before inevitable calamities.
Massive statement of intent form @ChairmanDan ’s Rangers . They’ve one domestic trophy to play for and boy are they going to play for it .
I don’t support any team in the League of Scotland mate. Big win for the Teddy Bears as you said though over Heart of Midlothian. At Tynecastle as well.
Terrific post match scenes. Sunshine on Leith booming out after the derby victory, & some goal to win it.
13 league games unbeaten now for the Edinburgh Hibees. That will put them in good cheer for the Scottish Cup Quarter Final trip to Glasgow Celtic next weekend.
Probably the most eagerly awaited match in Europe next weekend. Over 7,000 Hibees coming through, as the jockos say, & their side is playing some terrific stuff these days. Celtic know only too well after the reversal in Edinburgh 8 days ago & they themselves have lots of new admirers worldwide after outplaying Bayern Munich over two legs recently.
They’ll give your boys a right battle for second spot yet !
Of course Edinburgh Hibernians were the trailblazers for the League of Scotland in Europe. Semi finalists in the inaugural European Cup in 1956. Next Sunday at Celtic Park will be a real clash of two traditional European heavyweights.
Celtic will face St Johnstone in the cup semi-final after Dublin born veteran Graham Carey (a former Celtic youth if memory serves me correctly) scored a terrific goal to earn the win for Saints in the last quarter final tonight at Livingston (I presume). Hearts v Aberdeen in the other tie.
