Yes Stevens has reverted to how he played in the first few games of the last campaign and Doherty hasn’t done much.

Overall, a draw would be a good result but we need to get back on the ball a bit. The back 3, Cullen and Robinson have been good. Wouldn’t be too harsh on O’Shea for the goal. It’s a great header by Tadic and straight into Vlahovic’s path. Connolly has gone backwards in the last year. Travers looks like he could throw one in at any time

Overall it was a good first half performance from Ireland. We should be happy.

Disappointing to concede but we’d have taken that coming in.

Very positive start but, as we always do, we retreated after the goal. I can see them scoring again but their defense doesn’t look mighty so there could be another one there for us

Be hoping he gets Long on for Connolly before the hour mark, plenty of experience on the bench to help hold on for a point or with a chunk of luck yet 3 pts.

They arent but unfortunately the difference between us and similar opposition is they all have a world class player to badly hurt us.

Last time we played Serbia in Belgrade we got a flukey 2-2 draw so maybe we can manage that again but it was looking ominous towards the end.

I think in once sense it was a heartening enough first half and a big step up from what we saw in the last half dozen games under Kenny and in a similar level to our performance against Slovakia.

On the otherhand it is along the same lines as the majority of our away performances in qualifiers for the last 25 years or so with the odd exception.

Few lads not used to a high standard faded fitness wise for the last 10 mins. Serbia will have taken heart from how the half finished.
