Serie A season 2011/2012

Shocking penalty from Cavani.

Better freekick

Wonderful free from Cavani brings Napoli back into it.

Splendid from Cavanni!

Cavani grabs a second, great finish.

Hamsik has made a real difference since coming in.

Handanovic makes a wonderful save from Zuniga.

Did it finish 2-2 Totti?

Yes Sid.

It leaves the battle for 3rd place wide open. Napoli were pressing hard late on, the game changed when Fabbrini received a very harsh second yellow card for Udinese and Napoli upped things when Hamsik came on. Both sides were missing a few key players, Udinese were without Benatia, Isla and Armero while Napoli were missing Maggio and Lavezzi.

Excellent character from the lads to dig in like that after the extreme disappointment of Wenesday night.

The table now as regards to those in contention for 3rd spot. What a wonderful job Vincenzo Montella has done with Catania.

3 Lazio 28 7 4 3 19 12 7 2 5 23 22 8 48

The great Cassano back in training.

Hoping to see him link up with Rossi this summer.

Lazio grabbed a vital late victory at home to Cagliari with Diakite grabbing an 88th minute winner. Napoli were pegged back from a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 at home to Catania. Udinese drew last night 1-1 away to Palermo while Roma lost 2-1 in Milan. Inter travel to Turin to play Juve tonight.

State of play for 3rd spot.

4 Napoli 29 48
5 Udinese 29 48
6 Roma 29 44
7 Catania 29 42

I envisage Napoli pipping Roma to 3rd spot by 2 points.

Juventus: 1 Buffon; 4 Caceres, 15 Barzagli, 3 Chiellini, 11 De Ceglie; 22 Vidal, 21 Pirlo, 8 Marchisio, 7 Pepe, 32 Matri, 14 Vucinic
Juventus bench: 30 Storari, 19 Bonucci, 20 Padoin, 34 Marrone, 10 Del Piero, 18 Quagliarella, 23 Borriello

Inter: 1 Julio Cesar; 13 Maicon, 6 Lucio, 23 Samuel, 55 Nagatomo; 4 Zanetti, 5 Stankovic, 18 Poli, 20 Obi; 9 Forlan, 22 Milito.
Inter bench: 12 Castellazzi, 23 Ranocchia, 26 Chivu, 37 Faraoni, 14 Guarin, 19 Cambiasso, 7 Pazzini

Buffon has been in sparkling form for Juve.

Juve take the lead through a Caceres header.

Alex wraps it up.

A good win over inter here keeps the pressure on Milan !! We will relent…
