Serie A season 2011/2012

Cavani hat-trick  another brilliant finish

well called Mr. Totti.

Cavani has his hattrick!

Haha.

Nesta gave Aronica the middle finger.

Edinson Cavani is fast becoming my favourite football. A splendid talent

Cavani is an absolute hero.

Inter are away at Novara tonight, the game is only moments old and they are lucky not to be behind, they are a mess.

Novara have the lead, a loss here tonight will probably seal Gasperiniā€™s faith.

Inter have just gone 1-0 down at Novara.

or the owners lack thereof

Correct.

I apologise for my rudimentary error.

Gasperiniā€™s loyalty to an out of sorts Milito is perplexing to say the least.

Oh dear, penalty for Novara and a red card for Ranocchia!

2-0

Slaphead has pulled one back for Inter.

3-1 to the Northerners!

A famous win for Novara!

Gasperini has been officially sacked by Inter. Gone without winning a single game.

Ranieri expected to be the replacement.

Inevitable that he was going after that start to the season.

Ranieri is not the right man for the job either. Thereā€™s a real imbalance with Inter, Lucio is a complete liability IMO, he plays for himself and is not tactically responsible. Ranocchia and Samuel would be Interā€™s best partnership. They are quite well covered in the full back positions although they could do with a natural left back just to add some balance to the side. I donā€™t see any coach being brave enough to drop Lucio.

They have major problems in midfield, they lack some one who can dictate the tempo in the middle of the pitch, Cambiasso is a good tactical player but his passing ability is very limited and heā€™s quite a clunky touch, so he can be pressurised into mistakes. Motta is a good battler and decent on the ball but heā€™s quite injury prone, Stankovic again is decent but nothing special. I always felt Sneijder was overrated but after his CL winning season with Inter and WC performance with Holland, I retracted my stance on that. Now I know that it was never an ability issue with, but he has some major, major confidence/consistency issues. When heā€™s on his game he is great, when he isnā€™t he is both a liability and a passenger.

Up front they have more problems, their 3 main strikers are all goalscorers as such, many would argue that Forlan is an excellent playmaker too but thereā€™s not really much movement and flair around for him to create. Milito also looks finished, heā€™s lost a yard of pace and clearly doesnā€™t look confident. Pazzini is a real predator and should be Interā€™s number one striker but if they are not creating chances for him and Inter are not dominating games then he will struggle to make an impact.

The team is quite old, lacking in pace and creativity, one of their most talented players severly out of form. Ranieri is also a very conservative coach, so while Inter might tighthen up defensively, they will continue to struggle for goals.

Udinese have taken the lead against Milan courtesy of an absolute howler from Abbiati.

1-1 now between Ac and Udinese.

Ranieriā€™s first match as Inter manager underway now, away to Bologna.
