For some reason I thought this fixture was tomorrow. Sure isnāt grand to log online only to see the Queens 11 were well bet by our own. Mon the boys in green and white.
Hail hail, mate.
i ust want to reiterate how bad that waghorn cunt was
He makes Sebo look like Ronaldo
Hail hail bhoysā¦beat a newly promoted side hail hail
Just getting around to watching this now.
Sky didnāt show a replay of the Armstrong offside as it was a breakaway directly after Miller hit the post - they cut to a replay of the Miller chance instead.
But look at this! I knew watching it live that he was clearly onside (as my quoted post suggests) but he was as much as 3 yards onside.
Farcically biased officiating but Celtic overcame it. Theyāll do everything possible to stop a treble so I expect some disgraceful refereeing in the Scottish Cup as the season goes on.
You just have to accept that, at ibrox in particular, you need to be two or three goals better to get a win. The linesman was disgraceful, but I suspect itās timidity these days rather than anything. A linesman will always be pilloried far more if they miss an offside than if they flag one incorrectly. Sevco have, by a distance, the most unpleasant band of supporters as a group that youād encounter anywhere in the first world. Against celtic at ibrox you can ratchet that bile up a few clicks. It is a poisonous place, and, I suspect, most ānormalā linesmen, (an odd bunch anyway) are intimidated and flag if there is any vague suspicion of offside.
The ref was pretty good I thought. He was quite fair. The goalmouth scramble free out was stupid, and one of the sevco players escaped a yellow near the end for what in my opinion was a red card studs up challenge, but he was no Hugh dallas. I thought he was OK.
Scott Brown, in that atmosphere, is absolutely invaluable to Celtic. He is the linchpin of that side, and deserves to be up there with the great legends.
Much as I love the old firm game, I honestly think that Glasgow,Scotland and the world in general would have been a better place had they bulldozed ibrox and built a carpark.
These decisions level themselves out over a season mate so donāt be fretting
DembĆ©lĆ©ās goal as viewed by the home support behind the goal with accompanying commentary:
Ah here. Mind you, sevco havenāt been around long enough to judge.
Another highlight was when Scott Brown, clearly taking dogs abuse, stood on the hoarding at the home end for just that extra second.
āHonest Mistakesā.
I partly agree with you but thereās also a real longing across large sections of Scottish society for āthe peopleā to reclaim what they perceive as their rightful place at the top of the league. Even though this is a new club and many of oldcoās titles were won through financial doping.
The majority of Scottish football writers predicted at the start of the season that Sevco would win the league. Thereās broadsheets acting as cheerleaders for them, never mind the tabloids. Same across most Scottish media platforms covering football - theyāre openly hoping and praying for them to overtake Celtic and thereās no objectivity to it. Thatās why BT Sport has become a refreshing alternative - unbiased coverage with no agenda.
As has been alluded to, I donāt really trust the āhonest mistakesā narrative though I acknowledge that officials can come under pressure at Ibrox. The referee yesterday should have been used to it as heās a season ticket holder there!
Seriously? Thatās just mental.
Yes, thereās some very entertaining season prediction article screenshots floating around online.
Back where they belong, loyal support having bought thousands of season tickets, Joey Barton will dominate, astute signings of experienced duo Clint Hill and Niko Krancjar, Warburtonās brilliant management and exciting young academy talent etc etc.
Meanwhile, Celtic had appointed Brendan Rodgers who ultimately failed to win the EPL with Liverpool, main summer signing Scott Sinclair had been a reserve player for a couple of seasons, Scott Brown looked finished, Deila had left behind an unmotivated squad with several struggling players, too reliant on Griffiths for goals and so on.
Very much seeing what they wanted to see.
One thing I noticed yday was that the players never contested any of these decisions. Izzy, Sinclair and Armstrong all just accepted it and ran back to position.
Sutty was on twitter yesterday evening laying the subtle digs about the offside calls.
Whatās really ironic is that the vast majority of sevco supporters donāt give a flying fcuk about the national team.
I actually again will expose myself to abuse from the PIRA PSC on here and say that, to an extent, the potential groundswell of indigenous support behind sevco is understandable, as supporting celtic has become more and more trendy amongst snowflake ārepublicansā who, for some reason, wave the Irish flag like celtic is an Irish club, and, wave it provocatively at every opportunity. Celtic are a great club, and great to support, and Scottish football is great to watch as the defending is often bombscare, but they are a Scottish club. The tricolour has no place there.
