An item for the ‘that didn’t happen’ thread.

As in, that a week was written off after meeting Luke Kelly.

All that legendary drinkers shite that goes on with the Dubliners/Kavanagh/Behan etc annoys me to be honest. I’d say they would drink feck all. Barred out of McDaids and the Bailey is the story as well - yet they seemed to spend an awful lot of time there. I treat all those stories with an enormous pinch of salt.

Contestant …“he kept his mouth shut”

MM …“correct!”

Died at 62 after suffering Alzheimer’s for years. When is soccer going to face up to the problems caused by repeated heading the ball and outlaw it.

That is terrible in fairness.

I wonder if he was an ancestor of Mayo man William Brown who founded the Argentinian navy.

I believe that’s bullshit

Nice rural myth though

Of Scotch ancestry, Leith to be precise

Thankfully the other famous tale of a South American 1986 World Cup hero having Irish links is 100% true, as Socrates did indeed play for UCD in a Collingwood Cup match

But Shels, typically, rejected him

What about McAllister the blonde Argentinian full back of yesteryear? Was he a Mick?

I heard the socrates yarn and also that rudi voeller won a sigerson with UCD…

I have no idea m8

Is the FC O’Higgins fan club still going

We won the league a few years back but it wasn’t mentioned at the time, which was a pity
