The 49-year-old singer shot down claims that she was suicidal in a Facebook post on Friday while celebrating Britainās decision to leave the European Union.
The post comes hours after Chicago police received a call from police in Ireland, saying that the singer was in the Windy City and threatening suicide. āSinead OāConnor called and said 'Iām on a bridge in Chicago and Iām going to jump,ā Irish authorities reportedly told Chicago police, asking the department to keep a watchful eye.
āItās bullāt I jumped off a bridge,ā OāConnor wrote. āSome stupid b---- up at Swords Garda station [an Irish police station] decided sheād like to throw a bit of false and malicious gossip about is all.ā
āAM FAR TOO F-----G HAPPY FOR THAT,ā she continued.
OāConnorās happiness appears to be motivated by Britainās history-making vote on Thursday ā nicknamed āBrexit.ā
