Sinead O'Connor RIP

It shows the kindness of Sinéad, never afraid to stand out from the mob

Is there an Irish public figure who hasn’t commented?

It seems to offend a lot of people that both Sinead O’Connor and Christy Dignam were on very good terms with Ryan Tubridy.

Just wait until they find out about her support for refugees, immigrants and trans people.

Sinéad was the very definition of woke.

Bizarrely, a lot of the same people who shriek from the rooftops about the evils of “woke” - the same people who vilify what SinĂ©ad O’Connor stood for, somehow now feel entitled to clamber on the bandwagon.

Self awareness wouldn’t be these people’s strong point.

That’s a really nice article. John seems like an alright sort.

I remember reading an interview with David Holmes in late 90s I’d say (probably in Hot Press or something like that) when he was saying the person he’d most like to work with was Sinead O’Connor, that her voice had it all.

I didn’t realise that the guts of 20 years later, they actually got together to work on an album.

Doesent matter to her anyways,
What is sickening is the amount of plamasers on each media outlet harping on how she was this n that and the cunts slating her for decades.

In fairness she was rarely slated by anybody in Ireland for anything, certainly not that I can recall anyway

I think I agree with this. I think this supposed wish to “knock her down” in Ireland is mostly imagined. I think Ireland as a society was mostly proud of her and protective towards her because we knew her.

Abroad she got a less sympathetic hearing alright, as has been demonstrated fairly clearly.

Agree with you there. She seemed to be universally loved and protected by the Irish media. Even that auld cunt Gaybo was fair fond of her. I think if she was a Brit, she would have got a torrid time from their tabloids

I suspect, though I’m sure it will be disputed, that if she were a Brit, she’d have been very unpopular in Ireland in many circles
But she was genuinely loved I think, to be at one of her gigs was extraordinary, we were in awe

U joking me
Papers ate her
When it suited
