Have just noticed this tonight - when did it start? Is it a replacement for Sky Sports Xtra?

It’s the same station except they rebranded it. Like when BBC2 changed their name to Channel 4 back in 2006.
its just Sky Sports Extra, only they just changed the name, id say they changed it about a week or two ago
Sky Sports Extra is no more. It really is the end of an era.
Ah Sky Sports Extra. The channel you needed to have to witness such ground-breaking gimmicks such as Fanzone, where you could watch 2 fat blokes scream on their team or PlayerCam, where you could watch Giles Grimandi do his stuff, including his nose-picking, lace-tying and added bonus extras.
It worked though, I loved it for a couple of weeks 
So for the 3 or 4 of you that still have a Sky Sports subscription.
You have to notify them that you want to pause your subscription.
You’ll still have access to the channels and they’ll unpause you when things are back to normal but in order to not pay for the channels during this period you need to tell them to pause it.
