Social media monitor re Ireland’s Call

Bizzare like people misrepresenting the tri colour.

Outrage dopamine.

What flag will replace the Irish tricolour if a united Ireland ever happens?

Could we copy the Australian flag and have something like this?

Or maybe more geographically accurately, this?

Maybe the Unionists might accept the same colours, but turned horizontally, with orange over green? It’s very similar to the Indian flag, but that could be rationalised as India was also a former British colony beginning with the letter I.

But the Indians have a little bicycle wheel in the middle of their flag, so I feel we’d need a symbol in the middle of our new flag to unite us. And what better than a rugby ball.

I give you our new flag in a united Ireland.

How is Zombie an insult? It was written because of Warrington?

The unnecessary fada brigade are odd.

In February 1993 in Liverpool, three year old James Bulger was murdered by 10 year olsd Robert Thompson and Jon Venables. Everybody who was old enough to remember it remembers it. You still get frequent cries that Thompson and Venables should have been executed or should have never seen the light of day ever again. They were so hated and reviled they had to assume new identities. What they did was obviously sick, shocking, devastating and an outrage and it’s hard to understand how children could be so depraved to commit such an act. But they were 10. Such calls to execute them or to never let them see the light of day again were wrong. They were 10. There had to be a road back, some form of punishment was surely necessary but rehabilitation had to be offered.

In March 1993, 15 miles up the road in Warrington, three year old Jonathan Ball and 12 year old Tim Parry were murdered. The crowd who murdered them were adults. That crowd are currently leading the political polls in Ireland by a distance.

Funny old world.

My word

Any country that has a union flag on it is not a real country

Absolute fake outrage or upset over zombie is worse again than the up the ra whining. Both songs have been sung for 30 years without a word of complaint. I hate the internet

False equivalence.

People object to Up The Ra because it’s a glorification of the Warrington bombers.

People are objecting to Zombie because they hate when the Warrington bomb is called out as the mindless nihilism it was.

How could it be a glorification of the Warrington bombers if it was written in 1988?

Because it glorifies the PIRA, who were in existence long before 1988 and continued long after 1988.

Grand yeah good man

How can a chant of Up the Ra not be a Disney style glorification of the Warrington bombers?

Ah this is complete nonsense really. The Wolfe Tones were always a bit edgy.

You’ve a whole bunch of sad acts doing mental gymnastics just to offended by things and it only takes a few tweets to get latched onto for “everyone” to be outraged

Dont worry there are several “journalists” with “retractable” news outlets sreen grabbing tweets and writing articles as we speak

Who is getting offended by Zombie and why? What am I missing here?
