Has anyone read Eamonn Magee’s book yet?

Yes . Very good . He is some detail all told .

Magee has always been a very interesting character, a shame as he could have been a world champion but he has some serious issues he was never able to fully get hold of.

A great read. What a character. He was a world champion by the way.

I’m currently reading Mike tysons book. The endless crime spree of the first 100 pages gets a bit yawny.

Edit: Not a world champion.

Magee is a sad case if truth is told but his story is utterly fascinating .

One of the most enjoyable sports books I’ve read

A very good read.
He’s lived an interesting (or crazy) life so far.
Pity that he probably never got to fulfil his true potential.

A world champion what?

Boxer. I had in my head he won a WBA title but I was mistaken. When I tried editing the post it wouldn’t let me. Those two gobshites don’t know what they’re at.

Gents, can you recommend any good books you’ve read on GAA clubs please… Or any GAA books that incorporates social history. Thanks.

Not really

The original Kilmallock one “Our proud heritage” had a bit of history at the front.

Clubs books will be awful shit to those without skin in the game

Two books that come to mind are The Lifelong Season by a Keith Duggan and Green Fields by Tom Humphries

Yeah, that’s on the list alright… If you think of any drop me a line.

Rouse and Mike Cronin are the big dogs when it comes to GAA history
