Armstrong Ullrich immediately comes to mind. Armstrong always saw Ullrich as his biggest threat and has said that he thought Ullrich was more talented that him. Despite this Ullrich could not prevent him winnig 7 tours in a row. Best tussle between them probably came during Le Tour 2003 when Armstrong won by less than a minute. Famous incident where Armstrong crashed, Ullrich waited and then Armstrong attacked him (though Armstrong later said he wasnât sure if Ullrich waited he later detracted this). Despite the fact that the two of them were likely dopers it was still great to watch their battles. Would have been even better had they been clean I suppose. Below is footage from 2003 race.
