Shorter clip just of the finish
Roche at La Plagne chasing Delgado in '87 Tour. One of the best sporting moments I can remember. Commentary is brilliant.

This is Roche discussing it.

Where are you sourcing these rock? I read before the Ashes that the series with Ambrose destroying them is the last one Australia have lost at home. Jonty Rhodes was some fielder at point, the best I have ever seen - he was like a soccer goalkeeper just throwing himself around. He saved loads of runs with great diving stops / blocks but some of the catches he used to take there were incredible. The thing was he was a relatively poor batsman but they used to always say that you had to take into account the 20 or 30 runs an innings he saves in the field as well as the runs he makes himself batting.
I was hoping weâd see more of the Phil Liggott commentary when he realises Roche is catching Delgado. I was only 5 at the time and I remember us watching it in the house. The whole country must have been doing the same.
Christ, Iâm stupid. Sourced from You Tube obviously and I now have seen the clip of the commentary that I missed earlier.
Youâve figured it out then bandage eh?
This is another one of those âlateralâ type moves but a twist in the tail.
That one is quality. I used to be big into NFL circa 1989-1997 and I often wondered why they didnât try lateral plays more often. Itâs always used as a last resort in a desperate situation or on the final play.
Promised Bandage these sledging videos:

Those sledging ones are class.
I probably posted it before but my favourite ever sledge was when England were playing Australia in the Ashes Down Under 4 years ago. Jimmy Ormond, a decent bowler but somebody who didnât really have the talent to prosper at that level, was in the team after they were savaged by injuries (remember Simon Jones did his cruciate on the first day of the first test and theyâd a few other niggles anyway). Steve Waugh was captaining Australia and his brother Mark was fielding in the slips when Ormond came out to bat as a tailender.
Mark Waugh was giving him loads of abuse, stuff like: âWhoâs this imposter? Anybody know who this guy is? Whatâs he doing on the pitch playing with us? Does he know where he is? I wonder does he know this is the Ashes. Heâs not good enough to even grace the same pitch as meâ etc etc. Ormond, totally green at that level, turns around to Waugh and goes: âWell at least Iâm the best player in my family mate.â All the other Aussie fielders doubled up with laughter. A fooking quality comeback.
Following on from that sledging video; last night when Ian Bell came out to bat Shane Warne greeted him with, âWhat are you looking at Shermanator?â He then kept it up for the rest of the dayâs play. Sherman is the geeky looking guy from the American Pie movies, I suppose Belly has a bit of a resemblance to him alright.

Boucher to some Zimbabwe lad
Thatâs Taibu the Zimbabwean captain.
I watched the Warne one the other night, great stuff.
I canât wait until the one from last night gets put up on YouTube - it was class. Warne and Collingwood have been at each other all series since Warne had Collingwood stumped for 96 in the 1st test.
A compilation of sloppy play from Englandâs cricketers. Tuffnell missing the run-out is hilarious.
