No Hoolahan.
Interesting.
He wasn’t training last night and he was doubtful before Germany with a heel injury. Not sure if he’s even an option from the bench tonight.
O’Neillvsaid yesterday that Wes was unlikely to play. They didn’t think he would hold up fitness wise playing 2 games in 4 days
Ah right, I wasn’t aware of that. Thought he was very good on Thursday night, he’ll be a loss.
Dunphy is seething at Hoolahan’s omission. Stupid and shocking according to him.
It’s probably more of a 4-2-3-1 shape with Walters and McClean on the flanks and Hendrick advanced ahead of Whelan and McCarthy.
Dunphy is having a melt down here.
Daragh growin into the role
+1. Finally.
It’s actually outrageously ignorant of him to basically accuse O’Neill of lying about a conversation he had with Hoolahan.
There’s a choice on the way for RTE after this schooling of Dunphy and Giles.
‘It’s Daragh or us baby’
Citing his 17 year career as a professional
Sure sign he knew he was in trouble in the argument.
Maloney says Hoolahan hasn’t played 2 games in 3 days since 2011. Dunphy screaming at him saying it’s irrelevant and what’s the point of mentioning it. Because he’s 33, possibly fatigued, carrying an injury and the manager’s just said the player told him he didn’t feel up to starting, replies Darragh. I played the game roars Dunphy. How can he be on the bench? He’s either fit to start or he’s not, says John. All the non-starters are named as subs, explains Darragh. They might feel he can contribute for part of the game. I’m an analyst. I’m meant to be giving my informed opinions, says Eamonn.
Two idiot dinosaurs!
Will we see Aido tonight?
Dunphy showed a fairly unpleasant side of his character there. Painted himself into a corner before the O’Neill interview and felt he couldn’t back down for whatever reason. Reacted by accusing O’Neill of lying and trying to bully Darragh to get himself out of the situation. Wasn’t even entertaining, just uncomfortable to watch really.
Also, is there an amnesty on yellow cards tonight?
PIRA.
+1. Pretty nasty behaviour from Dunphy. I wish Kenny Cunningham was there to fight back.
Darragh M is mugging him off now. Dunphy misquoted a stat and DM jumped in.
Ugh, Ronnie Whelan.
