Thatās because despite all the discussion about it, I guarantee you, there is no such thing as an expert on suicide. Why?
Because people commit suicide for a plethora of different reasons ranging from what may seem like an innocent enough reason right up to the downright selfish ones and everything in between.
Ya iām not sure about that. Neuroscience is making incredible progress. Science, hard science, will largely replace the soft sciences in time. Its already started. And what i can gather the āexpertsā disagree on alot of things, including suicide.
People should read āBehaveā by Robert Sapolosky. Not finished it yet, but unbelievable stuff.

I havenāt exposed myself in a long time and it was involuntary, my swimming togs were pulled down in a swimming pool in Bundoran when I was 15.

Yeah I found that odd as well in an otherwise good post. I think knowing that some people are gay and accepting that is a much better way of dealing with it than just ignoring it until your late teens

I dont think the issue of sexual orientation was dealt with at all tbh Fran. As you say homosexuality was illegal and by default didnāt need to be dealt with. This despite the fact that the outbreak of the Aids epidemic in the early eighties should have made sure that sexual orientation was encompassed into whatever little education we were given.
Sexual education is certainly more detailed today then it was back then and it certainly happens at an earlier age.
Are they taught about rusty trumpets today, kid?
I do not know if there is a technical lesson into how the figs are gotten into the fig rolls. But certainly there is an awareness now there.
