There was no direct reference to it. That is correct. But you donât have to be a rocket scientist to see that this wasnât something that just befell her from nowhere
Theyâll figure out Mike. Its a different world they are being born into but itâs all theyâll know and theyâll plough on regardless. Like our generation it will the vulnerable ones with poor parenting that will fall to the side.
Problem is they have to figure it out before they should have to these days. In terms of parenting, I agree to a point but with the best will in the world even the best of parents struggle these days.
Do they? What about the times when kids had to go out in the workforce at 14 years of age to provide for their families like most of our parents had to. I think kids grow up a lot slower these days.
Iâm pissed. Iâm pissed because Iâve spent the day celebrating the wedding of my sister in law. Might normally be a standard affair but at the end of January '08 she arrived home one Sunday morning to find her then husband hanging in the garage. Her last 10 years have been something Iâd never wish on anyone.
She has a son who is now 11 and we found out this evening he was selected to play at half time in a Leinster game. It couldnât have been better timed. Heâll never play rugby to any serious level but this news was the best thing to happen him on a day he saw his Mam marry a new man. He told her in the graveyard last week that his Dad would be proud of her in moving on. Reduced a clatter of us to tears.
Anyway, Iâve told this story on here before but I guess the point is that sometimes life can move on to happier things. This wedding will be a proper 3 day affair and not a single person could begrudge her that happiness. Life is a fucking weird thing at times. Fairytale endings donât happen all that often. Itâs only when it plays out in front of you that you need to grab it and appreciate it.
