Did Bracken have a pop at Eddie O’Sullivan in a paper or something? Seem to remember some article with him blasting O’Sullivan for never picking UK based players. Where is Bracken now?

Think he went to Bristol but ave heard nothing of him since, IRFU offered a contract at the time to come back to Connacht and it was fairly derisory I believe

No he’s not, Daragh Hurley is a super prospect. Has been training for last 4 months so hopefully is over the injuries. He played for Munster in 2008 but then had a horrific back injury which nearly ended his career, He is top notch. He’s about 25. There are others as well, its just the gap in age is quite big. 30 is far from too old, but unfortunately his scrummaging is unlikely ever to improve that much due to his height. He’s not really built for it by all accounts.

He regulary blows guys out of the way, so i’m not sure what games you’ve been watching.

If he’s a serious prospect why have Munster signed 2 props this summer?

As a prop I always find it funny to hear non ABC members talking about scrummaging technique etc. Bit like me trying to give my tuppence worth on running lines from backs

Of course we can see guys who do well or struggle, but as you say with technique its anyones guess for those who didn’t play there. I rely on propping mates for the small things, or as to why a guy is good or shit.

Have picked up a bit about levels, timing and the grip after the hit.

I still think it has alot to do with a collective shove, and i’ve always felt the Irish back 3 (and Munster and Leinster) don’t do enough in that area.

Because any professional squad would need 6 props, plus they can’t rely on him as of yet due to injuries, Hayes is fucked and Horan is shit and gets injured. Don’t know how hard that is for you to understand. Stephan Archer is another guy who should come through in time.

I only asked a question and the whole thing unravelled from there! To bring it back on topic, I don’t think Peter Bracken was ever good enough.
