Summer Transfer Window 2013
Net spend ignores the increase in their wage bill. Substantial hike

7 x 5m = 35m x 4 years = 140m
Bale was probably on 20m over 4 years so region of 120m increase in wages
Thay’ve shipped out more than 7 so presumably then the effect is negligible?

Parker & Dempsey were the 3rd and 4th highest earners at the club.
Huddlestone
Bentley
Jenas
Caulker
Gallas
Bostock

The big noses know what they’re doing when it comes to cash, would be my guess.

Bale will be a failure at Madrid.

There is some whiff of desperation coming of Wenger in his press conferences.

On that picture above (which is photoshopped by the way), how many of those have they actually bid for?

The rest of media speculation.

Arsene knows.

Who gives a shite, for that money I would drive him there myself.

Apparently - according to unreliable sources on the Internet - Luis Suarez is to be offered a new contract at Liverpool FC with a release clause of £55m.

I can’t see how this is good business for Real. There is no way Bale will sell that many replica jerseys, and that is how Real make their money back on these mammoth signings. Bale just doesn’t have the same marketing value as Ronaldo, Beckham etc. Can’t see people walking around Singapore, Sydney, Sao Paulo and Seattle with no. 11 Bale jerseys on.
And it’s not like he is going to win la Liga for them… good player, but way overhyped.

I don’t think it’s great business for either team to be honest but it’s a bigger risk for Tottenham. Bale should be a big player for Madrid but they’re being ripped off. However they are pretty much bulletproof in terms of the amount of money they can spend on such players so there’s less risk. Conversely Bale’s importance to Tottenham over the last few seasons can’t be overstated and there’s no guarantee the players they replace him with will bed in as they want. Not sure €30 million for Soldado was such a great deal for a 28 year old either.

Interesting developments at Arsenal this morning where Arsene Wenger has said “We have some funds available”.

#ROFL

We’ll miss him when he’s gone.

Looks like they don’t want to announce Flamini until the have a big name also.

Chelsea are trying to hijack Spurs move for Willian. would have thought that Chelsea are well served for wide options

Might just want to put Spurs in their place

and spend 30 million to do so? They would be better off spending the money on other areas. They already have Hazard, Mata, Moses, De Bruyne, Schurrle and Oscar for their wide attacking positions

Generally a big fan of yours kidney but you’re way off the Mark here. Avb will be pissing himself. He’s getting way over the odds for his best player and has got a much stronger midfield and a better striker in return. Not sure what real are at. Can’t see bale and ronaldo fitting into the same team.

Agreed, while Bale will be a loss. Contrao is a far better left back that Assoue Ekotto, Soldado is a far more consistent goalscorer than Adebayour and Defoe. Paulinho looks a quality player while Capoue looks tailor made for the EPL as well and it should allow them to play Dembele further forward. Neither Dempsey or Parker did much at Spurs and neither are a loss. I haven’t seen much of Chadli so don’t know what to make of him but the squad has far more depth

While Bale is a loss their squad is much stronger and they are building very well under AVB who is a quality manager and I expect them to make top 4 this year

granted Assoiu Ekotto is a terrible defender but Why do you rate Caontrao so highly?..anytime I’ve seen him I always thought he was a loose cannon…always giving a way needless frees etc…

Contrao as part of the Bale deal is a non runner according to a few outlets this morning.
If Chelsea sign Willian I wonder does that mean Mata is available? Would he move to Manchester though.

I guess this means Liverpool are out of the running to sign Willian. Reports in all the papers today that Real Madrid are going to make a last minute bid for Saurez.

Barcelona have signed Suarez!!!

Poor effort.
