Super Blues 2015 - Official Thread

Ye can stop running now

Athlone, Wexford, Cobh too.

FAI already own our pitch
in fairness every first div club bar UCD is in the same position

1-1 draw away to Drogheda.

Drogheda got their goal with 6 minutes left to play. 3 points would have been very useful but return home with just the 1 point.

Took the lead from a penalty after half an hour. Drogheda had a lad sent off in the same incident.

To be 1-0 up against ten men with an hour left and still not win is a poor result.

relegation beckons, the sooner they are out of the league the better, state of their ground

Last minute equaliser versus Dundalk.

Valuable point.

Just back from Jackman Park.

Excellent result against the reigning champions. Started off well and that set the tone for the game. Pressed and harried the league leaders all through. In an even game it took an absolutely sensational goal from Richie Towell to break the deadlock for the visitors.

Limerick were game though and hung in there, there didn’t seem to be a huge gulf between the sides. Dundalk were content to sit on their lead and were duly punished in the 90th minute - a booming long throw was flicked on before being met by a thumping header. Bedlam among the home support of the 720 in attendance.

Chairman Pat was beside me, roaring and shouting all game. He nearly danced a jig when the equaliser went in.

A hard earned deserved point that bodes well for the season head.

Now to mug off another shower of Louth cunts in Drogheda tomorrow and maintain our division three status.

If there is one shower of cunts in this country who could dethrone Cork for weirdo/sicko tendencies it would be people from Co. Louth.

Great stuff

There’s actually no need for Martin Russell to be in the dugout at all. Pat was giving so much instruction and encouragement from the terrace, that he could manage the team himself

What’s the craic with the banned supporters? Has he let them back in?

Not that I know of, they certainly weren’t there tonight.

Dundalk were poor on the night, certainly didn’t look like champions and Limerick definitely deserved the draw. Kept going throughout, possibly should have scored beforehand. Good atmopshere from a small crowd, got well behind the team.

Paudie O’Connor was class at the back and did very well to set up the goal for Paul O’Conor, who was otherwise a disappointment. Ref was bad. Our attack did look very blunt though, improved when Faherty came on; punting long balls forward doesn’t suit Clarke but the Dundalk centre-backs fucked up almost every time a ball was played through the middle but we couldn’t capitalise. I have no idea how they hadn’t conceded before that if that was how they were defending. Duggan was excellent again, Harding was also good at full–back.

But playing some players out of position, others don’t seem to be up for the fight at times. When you have a limited team with not much depth, the players on the field have to scrap for everything. And he really needs to stop playing Turner on the left. Play Hughes in the middle, play Turner out wide and give Clarke a bit of support or else just play Faherty.

Great result though, well-deserved. Need 3 points against Bray now.

Lost 2-0 tonight

Things looking bleak

It’s getting very frustrating. Were the better team up until conceding the goal and should have been ahead and it was such a bad goal to give away. So was the second one. Just not clinical enough when they do have chances and look so uncomfortable playing the ball out of defence, especially on a shitty surface. O’Donnell is a poor distributor and neither Price or Williams are very comfortable on the ball either.

Poor Jason Hughes being played on the wing as well, what’s that about? Completely out of position, doesn’t suit his game. While Paul O’Conor has been a complete flop and needs to show what he can actually do or just be dropped. Russell doesn’t seem up to much either, very poor today.

On the upside, Clarke was good, best performance from him that I’ve seen, caused trouble throughout. Red Hanlon hit the bar late on, but at that stage it was game over.

Half time.

Super blues 1 Rovers 0.

Would that be the great Shamrock Rovers? Have their fans ran away yet?

1-1, not long left.

Great point but disappointing to concede late.

Would have been a great 3 points. Disappointed rovers nicked a point after 87 mins.
